Siegel+Gale Bolsters European Capabilities; Appoints Piers Guilar as Head of Strategy


Global strategic branding firm Siegel+Gale recently extended its strategic capabilities in Europe with the appointment of Piers Guilar as Director of Strategy in its London office. In an effort to widen Siegel+Gale’s strategic footprint, Mr. Guilar will lead all brand strategy project work in Europe.

Mr. Guilar’s work for a variety of global brands will serve Siegel+Gale well as it continues to develop the art and science of simplicity—pushing brands from around the world to reach their full potential.

Brandmarker’s 12th International Marketing Communication Congress


Today’s consumer is faced with a multitude of products and services to choose from and rapidly developing technology has made product proliferation that much more abundant. With little differentiation on the part of marketers to guide consumer choice, the market place has grown increasingly complex—resulting in a cluttered and confusing environment within which to make purchasing decisions.

Redefining Security


With a track record for product development and sound financial performance, McAfee earned its title as the world’s largest, dedicated, security technology company. Despite its success, Wall Street often questioned McAfee’s ability to stand up to larger competitors such as Symantec and Microsoft. Backed by new management in 2008, McAfee challenged Siegel+Gale to redefine its category by repositioning the brand to compete in the global digital security marketplace.

Is our brand on Twitter?

If you haven’t been asked that question by your company’s CEO yet, here’s betting that you soon will. For those unfamiliar, Twitter is a popular “micro-blogging” service that has captured the excitement of everyone from Oprah and Richard Branson to your next door neighbor. On the surface, Twitter is a seemingly less sophisticated version of other social networks like Facebook or MySpace. Users post short messages (up to 140 characters in length) and track updates from their list of contacts all in a single page interface. Yet while Facebook is a closed, permission based platform that requires you to personally know the people you add to your contact list, Twitter is deliberately open. The degree of access enabled by this freeform environment, coupled with the transparency and immediacy of a short “tweet,” ushers in a fascinating new chapter in the story of how social media is changing the way people connect to one another. The result is a rapidly growing phenomenon where everyday people are adding, following and interacting with authors, activists, celebrities, business leaders, and increasingly, companies and brands.
